Team Halfords is looking forward to next season following confirmation that the UK’s leading retailer of car parts and accessories has confirmed its title sponsorship for 2008 heralding a fifth year of partnership in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship with Team Dynamics.

Gordon “Flash” Shedden has had his drive for next year confirmed following a barn storming performance of ten podiums and four wins which saw him finish third in the driver’s championship and the team finishing the season in third place.

But there will be a change in the driver line-up as Matt Neal announces his departure to the Triple Eight-run Vauxhall team for 2008 after two outright consecutive championship victories.

Matt Neal commented: “It’s not a decision I’ve taken lightly, given my close family links with Team Dynamics and a great team set-up which has supported me in winning two BTCC titles. However, life is about challenges and changes and whilst I am sad to leave Dynamics I am excited about my new challenge ahead. I would also like to thank Halfords for their support over the past year and say that I am really thrilled that they are continuing their sponsorship into the new season.”

Team Principal Steve Neal commented: “We all wish Matt the best of luck and almost every success as we shall be competing against him in the Team and Drivers championship next year! Team Halfords’ momentum is looking really good with the first year of the Honda Civic under our belts and some great results which we intend to build on. Gordon Shedden has had a great season and developed enormously as a driver so we expect him to be right up front and vying for the Drivers Championship in 2008.

Halfords Chief Executive Ian McCleod, commented: “We are very pleased to confirm the renewal of our sponsorship for 2008 so early which will give the team continuity and confidence going forward with their planning and development. Matt has been a great ambassador for Halfords and we wish him well for the future.”
