Having qualified his WSR built BMW 320si E90 on pole, Colin Turkington was all set for a dream start to the 2007 BTCC season. Whilst taking the chequered flag in second place and collecting his first piece of silverware, Colin was a little disappointed not to claim first prize.

Colin explains: “I ve got to feel happy with that result. To finish on the podium on the first outing with the BMW which is still only six days old is fantastic. I still feel there s still huge potential in the car. I managed to achieve some good lap times but my race was really lost from the start-line. I didn t get away off the line well and it s something I need to practise. “
