Cruz Pedregon, driver of the Advance Auto Parts Nitro Funny Car, and his team are heading to the famous Thunder Valley in Bristol, Tennessee for the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, May 18-20, 2007, the 8th of 23 powerhouse events of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Pedregon is 10th in Countdown to the Championship points and looking to improve his standing with each race.
Coming off a quarterfinal appearance at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis, Pedregon is more than ready to put this team in the Winner’s Circle. “We feel like we are slowly closing in on the combination that will provide the consistency we need to qualify well and go rounds on Sunday to win, ” said Pedregon. “We have some of that momentum that we’ve been in search of this year. It’s the kind of momentum we need to go on a win streak. ”
“Wayne (crew chief, Dupuy) and the team went over the entire car with a fine tooth comb, ” said Pedregon. “We are ready to go and looking forward to Bristol. Over my career, I’ve had some success at Bristol, but I really looking forward to a trip to the Winner’s Circle. ”
