At the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Dave Grubnic, driver of the special edition Endothil CR and Oxydrene Top Fuel dragster, and his team fought a hard fight, but in the end it was not enough to see their dreams of taking the title trophy Sunday.
In the opening round of today’s final eliminations, Grubnic and the Endothil CR and Oxydrene team used all of the strength and endurance they could muster against their opponent Rod Fuller. The two drivers blasted down the quarter-mile and gave the capacity crowd at The Strip a thrilling side-by-side battle, but Fuller was barely able to get to the finish line first to end Grubnic’s day of racing much earlier than anticipated, 4.552 seconds, 323.50 mph to 4.510 sec., 330.31 mph.
The ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals was the 22nd of 23 national events in the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
