Justin Humphreys and new Pro Stock engine supplier Richard Maskin came close to qualifying the Knoll-Gas Energy Pontiac GTO for the SummitRacing.com Nationals in their first NHRA national event as a team. They missed it by five-thousandths of a second, not a bad outing for new crew, but not what they want.
“It was an exciting weekend,” said Humphreys, who ran a weekend-best of 6.799 seconds. “It was a new learning curve for us. Now we need to test so we can get to where we want to be. We’ll be going to Valdosta (Ga. ) next week to test.”
