“We are excited to be racing every week, ” said the enthusiastic Toliver. “ We are so focused. We’re ready to take our ROCKSTAR Energy Drink Toyota Solara Funny Car to the next performance level. ”
After getting a late start, Toliver’s team, led by renowned crew chief Dale Armstrong, has been overcoming the obstacles inherent with a new team finding its competitive edge five races behind the other cars in the category.
”The season is only halfway over, ” Toliver continued, “but there’s still a long way to go. Our glass is half full . .. but we’re not where we want to be. ”
This week, Toliver will be in Denver, site of the Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway, Friday through Sunday. It is the NHRA POWERade Series’ fourth straight race, and is contested at a track more than one mile in the air. That creates tuning problems for Armstrong and every other crew chief at the track.
The combinations used at Denver won’t be brought out again until next year.
“Having all these races in a row is a good thing for us because it keeps us going, ” said Toliver, of Temecula, Calif. Everyone is working hard to go forward and move up a notch so we have a competitive car. ”
Toliver qualified 14th last week at Bristol, Tenn. He gave Cruz Pedregon a scare before falling back when the engine dropped a cylinder.
“Dale and the guys are getting a handle on running the car, but the bottom line is they couldn’t do it any faster. It just takes laps. ”
The laps at Denver begin with two qualifying runs Friday (4:45 and 7:15 p. m.) and continue with runs Saturday at 1:15 and 4:15 p. m. to set the 16 car fields for eliminations.
Developed to increase the recovery time of those who lead active and exhausting lifestyles, ROCKSTAR Energy Drink is available in five amazing flavors. You can find Original, Sugar Free, Juiced, Zero Carb and Guava at convenience and grocery retail outlets across the United States.
