Jerry Toliver: “We’re still hungry for round wins, and we have a chance to win four more on Sunday”

NHRA: Tony Pedregon Defeats Toliver En Route to ACDelco Nationals Win ROCKSTAR

Jerry Toliver went into Sunday’s ACDelco Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with intending to put a crimp in Tony Pedregon’s Countdown to One title aspirations, but his opportunity ended when the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink/AutoZone Toyota Solara’s rear tires lost traction.

The tire smoke ended his run, forcing Toliver to shut off the power and coast to the finish line in 8.532 seconds at 96.62 mph. Pedregon, meanwhile, had issues of his own but clicked on the win light with a run of 5.431 seconds at 251.53 mph.

Toliver and the team are preparing for the 2007 NHRA POWERade Series finale—the Auto Club Finals, Nov. 1-4 at Pomona, Calif. “We’re still hungry for round wins, “ said Toliver, “and we have a chance to win four more on Sunday. “
