In a starting-line staging duel, Koretsky decided to wait, and the two drivers waited patiently for more than a minute before Connolly lit the second light and Captain Chaos followed.
Connolly left first with a. 026-second reaction to Koretsky’s. 079, and he crossed the line in 6.668 seconds, 207.78 mph to a 6.736 at 205.51 for Koretsky.
“Our car made a move to the right, and I don’t know why, †Koretsky said. “I don’t know if I would’ve been able to catch him if we hadn’t made that move. â€
“This is a tricky race track when the sun is out, †added Koretsky. “We’ll get things together and get ready for the Gatornationals (March 16-18, at Gainesville, Fla. ).â€
