The regular stop on NHRA’s POWERade Series tour definitely has a different look this year. The O’Reilly Midwest Nationals, traditionally a night race and run in late June at Gateway International Raceway, has morphed into a spring event, May 4-6, beginning with Friday night qualifying and concluding with two days of daytime competition.
That’s just fine with Kenny Koretsky, driver of Greg Hill’s Indicom Electric/Nitro Fish Pro Stock Chevy Cobalt. “It won’t be as hot this year and that’s a good thing, ” said Koretsky. “The racing conditions will be different, but Eddie (Guarnaccia, team crew chief) was able to get some computer data during a test session when (teammate) Bill Windham tested there.
