NHRA officials postponed the running of the 23rd annual Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway until Monday morning at 10 a. m.
Morgan Lucas will be racing David Grubnic in his quarterfinals pairing. Earlier in the day, Lucas defeated his teammate, Melanie Troxel in a very close side-by-side race. He clocked in with an elapsed time 4.560 seconds at a speed of 321.12 mph to Troxel’s time of 4.588 seconds, 328.54 mph.
“We’re just glad we have the opportunity to race tomorrow, ” said Lucas. “Our Lucas Oil dragster is running very well and who knows, we’re looking like we may have a shot at winning this race. We’re feeling positive despite the rain and we’ll give it a good try on Monday. ”
