NHRA Nitro Funny Car Driver Scott Kalitta Posts a Solid No. 9 Qualifying Effort in Las Vegas

Scott Kalitta and his recently DHL-decorated nitro-fueled Funny Car racer are more optimistic than ever heading into this weekend’s, April 26-29, Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga., a few miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, after the most consistent weekend yet of racing with their 8,000-horsepower flopper at the previous NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event in Las Vegas two weeks ago.

Kalitta and the DHL team posted a solid No. 9 qualifying effort in Las Vegas, but more importantly to the team, their yellow and red entry made clean and consistent laps down the quarter-mile in five of six laps on their way to a quarter-final result in the desert as DHL made their debut as primary sponsor on the race car.
