NHRA: Ransome Cat To Back Rod Fuller At Reading Nhra Event David Powers Motorsports

Fuller qualified lower than fourth (seventh—4.605 seconds) for just the second time this season. He was defeated in the opening round by Clay Millican. It was just his fourth first-round loss of the year.

Fuller continues to lead the POWERade Top Fuel standings. The five-time NHRA winner holds a 93-point lead over Brandon Bernstein heading into the final race in the Countdown to Eight. He has led the point standings following 13 of 16 races this season and hasn’t been lower than third.

Last September, Fuller qualified third at Maple Grove Raceway with a 4.518-second elapsed time. He fell in the quarterfinals to Melanie Troxel.

The Las Vegas racer has two wins (Phoenix and Denver) in four final-round appearances this season. He also has three poles in his Rob Flynn-tuned dragster (Atlanta, Norwalk and St. Louis). He has an

average starting position of 3.53 his year.

“We feel good going there. Drivers seem to do well at certain tracks and Reading has always been a good track for me. We’re running the race earlier than normal, so it will be hotter. Our car runs well in the heat, so we’re really excited about that. And, to be able to carry the Ransome CAT colors all weekend is cool. It’s always nice to have color on the car, especially the yellow-and-black. ”
