Tommy Johnson Jr. and the Skoal Racing team did not leave Las Vegas with a trophy, as their Funny Car Chevy Impala was bested by the SummitRacing.com Nationals’ victor Robert Hight, on Sunday’s first official run.

After finishing in the top 10 in the first day of qualifiers with a pass of 4.822 at 323 mph, the Skoal Racing vehicle lost traction and experienced mechanical problems the following day. Heading into Sunday, Johnson was to face Hight.
