NHRA: SKOAL Racing Team Narrowly Misses Second Consecutive Semi-Final Appearance SKOAL

Tommy Johnson Jr. and the SKOAL Racing team posted a second round finish this weekend at the 22nd annual O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec in Dallas.

Seeded fifteenth in the Funny Car division, Johnson Jr. defeated second seeded Jeff Arend to advance to the second round against Tony Pedregon. In a nip-and-tuck matchup versus Pedregon, Johnson Jr. made a last second push, but came up just short in his attempt to advance to the Semi-Finals for a second consecutive weekend.

With victories over John Force and Cruz Pedregon in the Finals, Tony Pedregon took the Fuel Funny Car Division this weekend and overtook the lead in the points standings by sixteen points over Robert Hight.

Johnson Jr. ‘s Snake Racing teammate Larry Dixon captured his third win of the season and is now the winningest active Top Fuel driver with 41 victories.

After a week off, Johnson Jr. and the SKOAL Racing Team make their way to Richmond, VA for the Torco Racing Fuels NHRA Nationals October 5-7.
