The Thunder Valley of Bristol, Tennessee will come alive with the sound of NHRA POWERade Drag Racing on May 18-20, 2007, as Bristol Dragway hosts the O’Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals Presented by Q. The Thunder Valley Nationals is the 8th stop on the $50 million, 23 race tour of professional drag racing.
Pedregon, the 2003 NHRA Nitro Funny Car World Champion, enters the Thunder Valley Nationals 3rd in points in the Countdown to the Championship. “With this new points format, every run is important, ” said Pedregon. “The Funny Car ranks are highly competitive- any team can win on any given weekend. We are squarely focused on making the best possible run each time we pull up to the line. With consistent performance each run, we will find ourselves in position to win the Championship. ”
Pedregon, with 33 NHRA career wins, knows what it’s like to be in the Winner’s Circle and would like nothing more than a win at Bristol. “My team is really looking forward to the Bristol race. The fans are great and the newly resurfaced track should be fast, ” stated Pedregon. “It would be great to put the Q Power NHRA Nitro Funny Car in the Winner’s Circle for all of the great people at Q Power, the presenting sponsor of the O’Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. ”
