GM Performance Parts GTO racer Warren Johnson will be a featured guest on the Powershift XM Satellite radio show this evening (Tuesday, August 14). Johnson is scheduled to be on at 8:45 p. m. Eastern to discuss this weekend’s Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals in Reading, PA and the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship.
Johnson, 63, is a six-time champion in his 34th season of NHRA Pro Stock competition, with a class-leading 96 national event wins in 150 final round appearances. Earlier this year, he became the seventh member of the drag racing community to be inducted into the prestigious International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talladega, AL. Currently sitting seventh in the POWERade championship standings, WJ is heading to Reading looking to lock in his spot in the second stage of the Countdown.
Hosted by Joe Castello with sidekick Tommy Noodles, Powershift is a two-hour show covering all forms of motorsports, and features a lively blend of interviews, commentary and audience interaction. Powershift airs weeknights at 8:00 p. m. on the XM Sports Nation channel 144.
