Del Worsham put a pair of strong runs on the board, back-to-back, on Friday in Houston, and the entire atmosphere in the Checker, Schuck s, Kragen pit area was noticeably different because of it. In the first session, Worsham ended up 5th on the ladder with this 4.887, even though he was glad to admit he had lifted early. Under the lights, on Friday night, he improved to a clean and strong 4.830, and this time kept all eight cylinders lit right through the lights, taking top speed of the day by a solid 3 mph, running 318.24.
