An overjoyed Bruno Senna took the top step of the podium in today’s Barcelona GP2 feature race in only his second race weekend in F1’s feeder series.
After starting seventh, the 23-year-old Brazilian, who began racing just four years ago, made a stellar start, moving up to third and then took advantage of an early safety car period to take his compulsory pitstop, and despite a charging Timo Glock pushing hard in the closing laps of the race, Bruno still passed the chequered flag 5.3 seconds ahead of his closest rivals, punching the air with delight as he completed his slowing down lap.
