Dane Cameron Breaks Record With Pole Winning Effort At Sebring



Dane Cameron, of Sonoma, California, charged to the pole position for the opening round of the 2007 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear at Sebring International Raceway this afternoon, posting a time of 1:59.986 (111.03 MPH) in the #19 JDC Motorsports Pro Formula Mazda to shatter the year old record previously held by Brad Jaeger.

Cameron, who has topped the time sheets in every session of the weekend, was pleased with his effort so far, “We’ve been the fastest so far in practice the past couple of days and managed to come in first today, ” Cameron said. “It was pretty close out there. Towards the end, we lost some grip, but I couldn’t have a better spot to start from for tomorrow. I just need to get out front, stay out front and try to get a win. ”
