The British round of the F. 3 Euro Series at Brands Hatch didn’t bring Edoardo Piscopo the results expected after the impressive pace shown in practice. The Italian driver didn’t have the chance to turn the high and growing potential shown so far in a concrete position; in qualifying, Edoardo faced an hard time trying to turn a clean lap, suffering from traffic and multiple red flags.
Starting from the 17th spot on the grid, the 19-year old Mucke Motorsports driver got only two positions back due to the small passing chances offered by the 1.2-mile racetrack. On Sunday, Piscopo made an impressive recovery, finally finding a fast and enduring rhythm, and entering the top-10 behind Pole-winner James Jakes and Tom Dillmann.
Edoardo Piscopo – Red Bull Junior Program Driver:
“I’m sorry for not being able to reach, in both races, the results deserved for the progress we’re making. In Qualifying I couldn’t keep the position held in the first practice, and that was absolutely disappointing if you consider how important is to qualify on front here. With more than 20 cars grouped in 5 tenths of a second, traffic problems, red flags, and small mistakes proved to be more costly than anywhere else. Although both races were disputed over 58 laps, a very little could be done, as the reduced chance to pass frustrated any recovery. Finally, on Race 2 I found a way to take some positions back, turning several fast laps with ease and getting a bit of confidence back in sight of the next championship rounds at Norisring”.
