Formula Renault: Hard Work Pays Off For Prema Powerteam In Round 5 Of The Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Prema

Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup - Round #5 Magny-Cours - Race Report

The weekend at Magny-Cours in the F. Renault 2.0 Eurocup was a difficult one for Prema. The Vicenza Based Team worked very hard in order to provide Andrea Caldarelli, Martin Plowman and Henki Waldschmidt a competitive car after the free practice where there was sign of improvement and the very disappointing qualifying.

The best result was obtained by Caldarelli (19th), then Plowman (23rd) and at last Waldschmidt (28th). In Race 1, the rain was an important drawback for the three drivers of the Toyota Drivers Program and at the end the first under the chequered flag was the Dutch driver as he arrived 17th, in front of Martin in 18th position while Andrea finished 29th. In the second Race, the hard work of the Team paid off as there was clear improvement.

Waldschmidt obtained the 8th position, Plowman the 12th and Caldarelli finished 15th. After a long and busy month of September, the Team will have a two week break period in which they will have time to gather all the technical data in order to prepare for the last meeting of the Italian Championship on October 14th at Monza and the final races of the European series at Estoril (October 21st) and Barcelona (October 28th).
