Jack Clarke set himself on course for his first win in the Visma Formula Palmer Audi Championship by topping the test session for this weekend’s third meeting of the 2007 season at Snetterton.
The 19-year-old, who currently stands in fourth place in the championship but has yet to score his first podium, set a best time of 1 minute 5.55 seconds around the super-fast 1.95-mile Norfolk circuit in the second of the two sessions.
This put Clarke just under two tenth of a second ahead of Alex Brundle, who shone at his home track to take second spot. Third went to championship leader Luciano Bacheta, ahead of Tom Bradshaw and Jolyon Palmer. Dominik Jackson set the sixth-fastest time, followed by Chris Bell, Jason Moore and Russell Small.
