NASCAR Camping World Truck Series: News And Notes - Talladega Superspeedway |
Antonio Pizzonia set the fastest time of the first day of testing at Barcelona today, as the GP2 series set an impressive pace at the newly re-profiled track. The Brazilian’s lap of 1:27.808 just edged that of Timo Glock and the very impressive iSport International team, who topped this morning’s session withAndy Zuber. Antonio’s lap was also just 6.6 seconds adrift of the best lap set by 2005 GP2 serieschampion Nico Rosberg in Formula One testing at this very track just one week ago.
The real comparison however lies with Dams’ Kazuki Nakajima. In last week’s F1 test, Kazuki, who willdouble up his 2007 GP2 series responsibilities with his role as third driver at Williams F1, set the thirdfastest time and today he repeated that same position in both sessions. The difference between hisbest F1 lap of 1:22.509 last week, and his best GP2 series time today of 1:27.908, was a little underfive and a half seconds, displaying the difference the 2007 spec aero kit is already proving to have onthe ever advancing performance levels of the F1 feeder series
