Prema Power team
In the second round of the F3 Euroseries season, Prema Power team showed a lot of potential but unfortunately were unable to bear the fruits of their work. On a track where overtaking is virtually impossible, problems in qualifying made for a very challenging race for both drivers.
Renger Van der Zande finished the session in the gravel trap after running very strongly early on and was limited to the 8th row of the grid, while Michael Patrizi had technical problems with his car which prevented him from showing his true pace.
In race one, the Dutch driver from Nimega recoverd well up to 13th place, having to fight his way past vastly slower cars. In race two he retired with a technical problem on the exit of the Druids corner. Patrizi made two good starts and battled hard in both races to finish Xth and Xth.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal:
“On an old fashioned circuit with few overta king opportunities, even the smallest misfortune in qualifying can compromise the work of a whole weekend. Our potential was to start within the first 3 rows and we paid heavily with Van der Zande’s trip to the gravel trap as much as Patrizi’s technical problem. In the race we knew it would have taken a miracle. It’s important we put this unlucky race behind us and we now need to concentrate on the next race meeting of the year at Norisring. “
