The tie up with the Formula 1 French G. P, meant for a very unusual timetable for the F3 Euroseries who acted as a support race for the main event. Despite constantly occupying the top of the time sheets in qualifying with his first set of new tyres, Renger Van der Zande was haltered by heavy traffic with his second set. Finishing 8th overall which subsequently became 18th place with his 10 place penalty added on from the previous race.
In both races, Renger had a strong race pace, but was unable to make much ground on the race order, such is the difficulty in overtaking at Magny Cours. Michael Patrizi on the other hand, had a positive qualifying session, but suffered some off track excursions in the race that cost him a lot of time and places.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal:
“It’s undeniable that Renger van der Zande payed dearly for his 10 place grid penalty. Our pace was worth y of a top 5 position, but starting so far behind on a difficult track to overtake put payed to a good weekend. After his excellent race at the Norisring Michael Patrizi was unable to repeat his performance here and was hindered by the lack of testing time and a few off track excursions. ”
