Shannons Nationals Gears Up For A New Year At Oran Park

Series Director Rob Curkpatrick said that whilst the late start to the year was designed to give competitors the best possible chance to prepare for the season ahead, it would be full-steam-ahead from now on. ”We have three rounds in a five week period, here in New South Wales (Oran Park), Victoria (Phillip Island, May 5 – 6) before heading North to Queensland Raceway on May 20 – 21. “Last year was our inaugural season and whilst it was a big learning curve for all involved we achieved everything we set out to do.
”There is now a solid foundation and we have worked on a lot of areas over the summer, ” Curkpatrick said. The 2007 Shannons Nationals will include 10 rounds, featuring 10 different racing categories in seven states from April to December. Hallmark events designed to feature individual categories will also feature throughout the season.
All rounds will be broadcast on Speedweek; Sunday’s on SBS with a dedicated program featuring a new look unique to the Shannons Nationals racing. FOX Sports Inside Speed will also show the action on the following Wednesday’s ensuring competitors and sponsors receive significant exposure throughout the season. Action from Oran Park will air on SBS on Sunday, April 29th.
