Concluding a Championship, an entire season by obtaining the first place in the final race is one of the best ways for having a good winter especially when the driver who won race 2 at Montmelò is Ben Hanley, second in the World Series Championship.
Owing to the reverse grid, Hanley who started in first row (9th in race 1) was third at the first corner. Lap after lap he carefully studied Alejandro Nunez who preceded him, and overtook him at the first corner. Ben then went after Bertrand Baguette, who from the beginning occupied the first position. He reduced the gap of 2"5 and finally overtook him with a similar move than the one he used with Nunez. Hanley’s pace was very competitive as he soon had created an important gap from Baguette. With this victory, Hanley secured the second position in the final championship standings, in front of Milos Pavlovic who after Race 1 had reduced the gap to one point. Xavier Maassen, after a contact in the first stages of the race with Clivio Piccione which compromised the car’s set up, had a satisfying race as he finished 17th.
René Rosin – Team Manager
“After Race 1 I said that Prema wanted to end the season in the best possible way, and it has. Ben Hanley performed perfectly in race 2 and thanks to a fast and reliable car he managed to pass first under the chequered flag. Ben has an enormous potential and we wish him a great career.”
