Prema and Ben Hanley only had one possibility to obtain some points in the second race of Estoril’s World Series Renault: perform the fastest lap in the race. And that’s what happened. Hanley, who started the race 29th, gained a few positions at the start, but arriving among the top ten positions was practically impossible. Consequently, Hanley stopped, waited a few laps, changed tyres and went out again when the track was free.

The young Brit therefore obtained two precious points as he performed twice the fastest lap, which keeps the hopes alive for the Championship title until next week on the circuit of Montmelò, at Barcelona where the 2007 Champion’s name will be known. Now the gap between Alvaro Parente and Ben Hanley, is now of 22 points. There are still 35 to be distributed during the last race. Xavier Maassen, with the second Dallara of the Team Prema, after committing a mistake during the first lap, r etired on lap 12. The second race at Estoril was won by Milos Pavlovic in front of Clivio Piccione and Fairuz Fauzy.
