Colin Osborne will enter a pair of Toyota Celicas with the CAMS President pairing with former Australian Rally Champion Neal Bates and John Roecken in the lead entry.
Holden Motorsport will enter a pair of Astras, a VXR coupe, to be driven by four V8 stars who will be officially announced later in the week, and a diesel CDTi turbo which is expected to be driven by an all-female line up.
The flagship for the Ford Motor Company in the 12-Hour race will be the Robinson Racing Ford F6 Typhoon and Darrell Dixon led Falcon TE 50.
The Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTD entered by Thompson Alfa Romeo will highlight the ever changing world of endurance racing across the globe as Kean Booker, Rocco Rinaldo and David Stone line up in the Eco Diesel Over 3.5 litre class.
In total there will be 11 different manufacturers represented from the 35-car grid making it a true showroom showdown.
There will also be no less than a dozen drivers with V8 Supercar experience including John Bowe, Paul Morris and Craig Baird along with four of Australia’s best rally drivers competing in the event.
The 2007 WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival kicks off next Friday (April 6) with a capacity field of 55 Historic Touring Cars, 43 Aussie Racing Cars – which provided some scintillating racing at last year’s Festival, 31 Commodore Cup Cars and 26 GT Championship cars action throughout Friday and Saturday. The WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro will be held on Sunday April 8 beginning at 5:45am.
Along with the WPS 12-Hour Showroom Enduro and the 11 support races to be contested during the weekend there will be plenty of other entertainment including the opening round of the Freestyle Motorcross (FMX) Nationals sponsored by Freerider MX magazine and Skin Industries. Almost 50 entries have been received for the FMX event including a lot of riders from country New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria and even Flinders Island.
There will also be a drift battle with eight drivers confirmed to be a part of the action including current Australian champ Beau Yates, dual Australian champion Darren Appleton. There will also be a team of three drivers from Western Australia including the winner of round one of the 2007 Drift Australia Championship held in Perth two weeks ago.
The WPS Bathurst International Motor Festival will be held at Mount Panorama from April 6 – 8.
