Round: Five of the 2007 Champ Car World Series

Where: Burke Lakefront Airport, Cleveland, OH 2.106 – mile temporary road course

Cleveland Success: Graduates of the Champ Car Atlantic Series, PCM drivers Alex Figge and Ryan Dalziel have experienced the highs and the lows that are chronic on the Burke Lakefront Airport racing circuit. Dalziel’s chart includes three race starts at Cleveland. His best came in 2004 when he led all 34 laps and won from the pole position. While Cleveland is one of Figge’s favorite circuits, he has yet to take the chequered flag on the challenging 2-mile temporary road course.

PCM JR Team: Pacific Coast Motorsports announced their JR Team two weeks ago at the Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland. The driver and team development program was designed to create a tangible link from karts to the pinnacle of North American open wheel racing, the Champ Car World Series. Members of the JR Team are Atlantic competitors US RaceTronics and their drivers, American Carl Skerlong and Mexican David Garza. Karting standout, 13 year-old American, Miles Maroney was also announced to the team.

Ohio Native: PCM Mechanic Jim Rice is a native Geauga County. Rice is responsible for the rear- end mechanics on Alex Figge’s #29 Champ Car. A member of the over-the-wall pitcrew, Jim is the inside rear tire changer during pitstops.

Road America Test: PCM tested at Road America on Tuesday of this week. Alex Figge completed completed over 180 laps on the 4.048 mile road course and set the seventh fastest time of the test. Dalziel jumped in Figge’s car to get a feel of the historic road course in a Champ Car, he completed 110 laps.

I love the Cleveland circuit. Ever since we announced our Champ Car program, Road America and Cleveland are Two of the circuits I have been the most excited to drive in a Champ Car. Road America was incredible and I am sure Cleveland will be as well. ”

Ryan Dalziel on the Burke Lakefront Airport Circuit: “Without a doubt, Cleveland is one of the best racetracks in the world. It’s extremely challenging and it’s got everything, fast straights, high-speed rolling corners a slow speed corner, surface changes…just the way I like a racetrack. I’ve got a lot of great memories racing in Cleveland and I love they way the run the event. I can’t wait to get back on the airport! ”
