Happy Birthday Ryan: Ryan Dalziel turns 25 today, April 12, 2007.
PCM and Ironclad the Local Angle: Long Beach is the home race for Oxnard based Pacific Coast Motorsports and also for Ironclad, Ryan s primary sponsor, they are based in El Segundo, California.
Long Beach Race Winner: When Dalziel takes the green flag this weekend, it will be his fourth start at the beach. He s raced here in both Atlantic and Grand Am, but it will be his first time racing here in the Champ Car. Dalziel won from the pole position here in 2004 while racing for Sierra Sierra Enterprises in the Toyota Atlantic series and he counts that victory as one of the most memorable and important of his racing career.
Scotland s Most Eligible Bachelors: The Scotsman recently ranked Ryan as #6 on the list of Scotland s 50 most eligible bachelors.
Ready for Rebound: Dalziel finished the Vegas Grand Prix with mixed emotions as he was running third when his gearbox problems manifested. Dalziel spent 16 laps in the pits getting his #28 DP01 serviced by his California based crew. They sent it back out on track and he finished 11th. It was bittersweet for Dalziel as he felt he had a top-five run going, however unlike many of his competitors he was able to finish, and gained two positions by getting back out on track.
Ryan Dalziel on the LBGP: “I love Long Beach. It is definitely my favorite event. Lot s of energy here and it is going to be fun racing for the home team. I ve got good memories as I won here in Atlantic from pole in (2004), it is a prestigious event and having won here is special. I am ready to make up for the problems we had during the race last weekend and get the Ironclad car back into the top-ten and finish there. ”
