It went really well today. I was able to get a really good start and get by Will (Power) on the first lap. We spent a lot of the first part of the race under yellow. Then once we got going, I made a small mistake, hit the curb at the chicane, bounced up high off the ground. Will really capitalized off that, drafted up on me and managed to pass me. I got a slow entry onto the straightaway so I really couldn t put up much of a fight about it. After that I just sat in behind him saving fuel. I came to the first stop glued to the back of him. We came in and did our first pit stop. The car didn t take any fuel, we spent 15 seconds and ended up getting only four laps of fuel. So that was a bit frustrating. We came back out and chased, then had to come straight back in and take fuel again. That really took the fight out of the race I think for Will (Power). I think we could have put a lot of pressure on him. Obviously, by then we were 45, 50 seconds behind him after doing another stop. We just had to fight, push hard all day, continue to catch people up, get by them. It was a good day for the Forsythe Team.

“Well today definitely didn t go as we hoped. During the first laps we managed to pick up a few positions and the Telmex/Cabi Developers car was running great, our first pit stop was good and I was pretty confident that we were headed towards the front. Unfortunately during our second stint we had a problem with the rear suspension and had to come in to replace one of the parts which completely took us out of contention. We came back out a bunch of laps down and just wanted to finish the race to get some points, then we had another problem with the front wing and had to come in to fix that So overall a very frustrating day, we still managed a top ten so that s a plus. We just have to move on to Long Beach and keep working hard. “
The Forsythe Team and the Champ Car World Series now head west for the 33rd Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the second round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series which will takes place April 13-15.
