F1 Boss Bernie Ecclestone Gets Love-Life Back on Track |
The first day of the Champ Car World Series Pre-Season test at MSR Houston turned out to be quite uneventful for Paul Tracy as the Forsythe Team opted to run only a limited amount of laps due to the adverse weather conditions at the Southern Texas road course. Tracy turned the third quickest time during the damp morning session with a laptime of 1m32.063s, but never went back out after the rain fall increased. The Forsythe Team decided to pack up early and prepare for a full day of testing tomorrow.

“Well I haven’t really done much today, we managed to do a few laps this morning and then waited hoping that the track would dry but it just kept raining more and more and we just decided to call it a day. Obviously it’s quite an inconvenience because with this new car we need as much testing time as possible, we need to learn how to set it up, what it likes and what it doesn’t, so every day is very important. Tomorrow the forecast looks much better so we should be able to get quite a bit of dry running in so we can continue with our preparations. â€
Phil LePan, Team Manager
“It wasn’t a very productive test today obviously, we didn’t get nearly as many laps in as we hoped. We were planning on doing some long runs to be able to test the reliability of the car but it was just too wet and we weren’t going to really learn anything so it wasn’t worth it. Tomorrow we have quite a bit planned so it’s going to be a busy day. â€
