The day kicked off with some demonstration laps from British Superbike rider Leon Haslam, followed by head-to-head races between World Touring Car drivers Andy Priaulx and Rob Huff, and British Touring Car drivers Fabrizio Giovanardi and Colin Turkington. Giovanardi’s new team-mate, Tom Onslow-Cole, also took the Vauxhall Vectra out for a spin.
After the riders and drivers took to the track for a photograph, A1GP’s Robbie Kerr wowed the crowd with some demonstration laps. This was followed by a demonstration from the all new ‘Time Attack’ event coming to Brands Hatch in August, as well as a selection of historic cars.
Jolyon Palmer, son of Brands Hatch boss Jonathan, took on Jack Clarke in a one-on-one Formula Palmer Audi (FPA) race. Both young guns will be strong championship contenders in this year.
To round up the day, Graham Powell and Steve Horne from the ever-popular British Truck Racing Championship warmed up their trucks for the new season. David Jenkins tested his new biofuelled truck and World Touring Car driver Rob Huff also had a drive in a mighty machine!
