A1 Team France ready for kick-off On Monday 24th September A1 Team France will officially unveil its 2007-2008 season in the prestigious Hotel Crillon in the presence of its drivers and personalities from the world of motor sport and show business. The team will take advantage of this presentation to announce its ambitions and display its car on the famous Place de la Concorde.
A1 Team France is tackling its third season in the A1GP, the Motor Sports World Cup, and is determined to take up the challenge of the 2007-2008 championship: namely, bring back home the crown that it won on its first participation.
A1 GP is an innovate concept in motor sport and is the only world cup in which national teams compete. Since its launch in 2005, it has attracted a twenty-two team field, among which are the strongest and best-known nations in addition to countries that have never had the opportunity to race at the highest level till now. The principles of equity and cost cutting are at the very heart of the A1GP philosophy. It is a monotype formula and all the countries have the same car, a high- tech single-seater specially designed for A1GP, whose technical characteristics favour overtaking and on-track action.
The Motor Sports World Cup will be held over eleven weekends racing to a crowd- pleasing formula. National pride, fair play, excitement and eco-responsibility are the key words of the A1GP Championship’s third season. Last year the races were followed by over 300 million TV viewers throughout the world. This season A1GP has established its place and credibility in racing by becoming the first international motor sporting competition to use and promote bio fuels.
