A1 Team Switzerland’s Marcel Fässler making his debut this week in his first A1GP race finished tenth in the sprint race reaching the goal he had set to himself to finish the race. In the 45 lap long feature race, Marcel was classified in 14th and finished the second A1GP race of his career. Switzerland’s overall total in the championship amounts to 45 points.

Fässler commented, “The start of the sprint race was not easy, despite Mexico having the longest and widest finish and start line of the Grand Prix calendar. After my qualifying in 18th position, I had the impression that I would never break through. Then I realized that all the cars ahead of me were having a difficult moment and were braking to avoid debris on the track after Junqueira and into Mexico Salvador and hit Germany. I had to avoid competitors and debris. I did not want to take any big risks at that stage but I worked my way through. I am satisfied to have finished the race in tenth. ”
