Marco Bonanomi scored some more valuable points at Budapest, in the fifth round of the 2008 World Series Renault. Driving for Comtec Racing, Bonanomi ended up in 5th place, keeping contact with the high gide of the drivers’ standings.
It want’t easy though: Bonanomi had to work really hard in order to find the right set-up balance during practice. In qualifying, the Italian clocked the third fastest lap of the day, entering the Super Pole but, unfortunately, he couldnt manage better than 10th place. On Race 1, Marco took advantage from his experience to tame the three safety-car periods of the day ending up with a well-deserved top-5. On Sunday, he had a tougher time on Race 2 (once again disputed with good weather conditions). After starting from row 5, Marco couldn’t fight back and was forced to settle for 13th due to engine issues.
Drivers’ Standings1. Van der Garde 96; 2. Jousse 55; 3. Carbone 41; 4. Duran 40; 5. Baguette 39; 6. Aleshin 38; 7. Bonanomi 36; 8. Pic 33; 9. Barba 32; 10. Wickens 29.
