Bratt Sets Fourth Fastest Practice Time At Magny-Cours Circuit Debut EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport

Banbury based FIAT Spanish Formula 3 Championship front-runner Will Bratt made a very promising start to the sixth event of the season at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours today, Friday, 19th September, by setting the fourth fastest time overall in official testing.

Marking the 20-year-old’s first ever appearance at the famous French track, today’s three 30-minute sessions saw the EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport driver improve strongly before concluding his final run with a best time of 1m 36.3 seconds.

Ending the day just half a second shy of pace-setter Jaime Alguersuari, Will is feeling very positive ahead of Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session and with a few changes to his car he’s confident he’ll have the pace to challenge for a place on the front two rows of the grid tomorrow.

“I’m quite pleased after today’s test, it’s not been a bad day at all”, commented the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Rising Star, “We bedded things in, getting adjusted to the track early on and then when I attacked more in the last session we found more time.

“The other guys at the front have run before at Magny-Cours so it’s been a very positive start for us to be so competitive. I’m not content but certainly quite happy. Although there is more work to do before qualifying, if we can find another few 10ths of a second we should be in good shape tomorrow.”

The qualifying session for round 10 of the FIAT Spanish Formula 3 Championship will take place at approximately 12.00 (local time) tomorrow, Saturday, 20th September, with both of the weekend’s races timetabled for Sunday, 21st September, at 10.30 and 12.45. Each Magny-Cours encounter will run over 16 laps or to a time limit of 35 minutes.

Provisional 2008 FIAT Spanish F3 Championship Driver Standings (after Rd9): 1st Nelson Panciatici, 56pts; 2nd Natacha Gachnang, 48pts; 10th Will Bratt, 25pts
