Brno Circuit Will Be A New Adventure For A1 Team Pakistan Driver Adam Khan

Under cloudy skies, A1 Team Pakistan took to the track in Brno today, for the first day of action at the A1GP, Brno, Czech Republic. While A1GP makes its second visit to the circuit following a successful first race last season, this weekend is a new adventure for A1 Team Pakistan driver Adam Khan.
A1 Team Pakistan was one of three nations unable to take part in this morning’s rookie sessions. Under A1GP regulations, only drivers who have competed in fewer than six A1GP races can take part in Friday’s rookie session. As Khan competed for his country in season one, the 22 year-old was forced to wait until this afternoon to get his first taste of the Brno circuit.
A1 Team Pakistan completed 23 laps around the 3.36 mile track during the second practice session. However, it was clear that the team were suffering with some technical issue as Adam Khan finished the afternoon 22nd.
Speaking about his first day in Brno, Kahn said, “My first time out on track in Brno wasn’t great! There seems to be a problem with the car, I’m losing a lot of time, but the car feels like it won’t go any quicker. The team are looking at all the data now and I know they will do their very best to make sure we are back on the pace tomorrow. We were finishing in the top ten in pre-season testing – so clearly today’s performance wasn’t a true reflection of what I and the team are capable of.
“The track is very interesting to drive; it’s quite flowing, it has a number of long corners. It’s also quite technical as well. I wasn’t able to enjoy or get to grips with the circuit properly though as I was struggling with the car throughout the session. ”
A1 Team Pakistan team manager Bobby Issazadhe added, “Today’s session was a bit frustrating, we have a problem with the car which really held us back today. Unfortunately there appears to be a problem with the differential on the car; meaning that the car is much slower around corners than it should be. Unfortunately, this is exaggerated by the numerous and very long corners at this circuit. However, we think we have identified the problem and I’m confident that the car will be fixed and back up to speed again tomorrow. ”
The team will be back out on track tomorrow at 11.00 for final practice before the all important qualifying session at 14.15.
