Frustrating End To A1GP Mexico For Pakistan

A1 Team Pakistan today competed in the ninthround of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, atthe Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez circuit inMexico. The weekend began well for the team, with Nur Ali making a good level of progressthrough the various practice sessions. Ali made upseveral places in the Sprint race to finish 15th, butlater struggled for pace in the second race of theday, and crossed the line 21st.

Conditions for the A1GP Sprint race were coolerthan yesterday’s qualifying session, with the track temperature only reaching 31°C. Ali lined upon the 22nd row of the grid for the 12 lap race and did well to avoid an incident at the firstcorner to make up five places. Pakistan maintained position to cross the line in 15th place, thegrid slot Ali would take for the main race of the day.

After a colourful opening ceremony, the field of A1GP cars lined up for the standing start of theFeature race. Although dropping positions, Ali steered clear of any first lap incidents and droveconsistently to finish 21st.
