A1 Team Switzerland won both rounds of the A1GP series in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend with Neel Jani in complete command of the event. In the Sprint race Jani finished nearly four seconds ahead of A1 Team France’s Loic Duval, who was well clear of Germany’s Michael Ammermuller and Robert Wickens of Canada. In the main Feature Race Jani was joined on the podium by Brazilian rookie Sergio Jimenez and Duval. In the middle of the race a Safety Car and pit stops enabled Jiminez to take the lead but then Jani hunted him down and the lead changed during the second pit stop window. GrandPrix.com
While Jani was worrying Jimenez for the top spot, Duval fell victim to a superb pass by Jeroen Bleekemolen of the Netherlands, who drove his car around the French entry on the outside of a hairpin. Jarvis couldn’t really catch a break, and got knocked out of the way by Ammermuller – who was yet again under investigation for a reckless passing attempt.
“My dream is fulfilled and I won two races on this fantastic Sepang track. We getting to understand each other better and better in the team and I hope we can continue like this all year round. Just a fantastic weekend and I was able to fight for this second consecutive win all through the race,” said an ecstatic Jarni. CarToday.com
