R-Tek Motorsport Services with reigning Australian Formula 3 champion Tim Macrow have enjoyed the perfect weekend at Round 6 of the Kuhmo Tyres sponsored Australian F3 Championship held at Sydney’s Eastern Creek circuit at the weekend.
Macrow, driving the R-Tek. Dallara F304 Spiess chassis was fast straight out of the transporter setting a time of 1:26.9627 in practice 2, then gaining fastest national class times in both qualifying one and qualifying two with times of 1:25.2556 and 1:25.7275 respectively.
Qualifying one saw him placed in grid position 7th overall while qualifying 2 moved him up one spot to grid position 6th.
Race 1 resulted in a National class victory for the Victorian based driver with a best time of 1:26.4547 crossing the line with only six championship cars ahead of him.
Race 2 brought another National class victory for Macrow and this time he brought the R-Tek. Dallara F304 Spiess home into a magnificent fourth outright.
R-Tek Motorsport Services owner Ian Richards said it had been the ‘perfect weekend’.
“Tim (Macrow) did a super job. Fastest national car in practice, two national class poles in qualifying, and two race wins. You can’t do any better than that.”
“R-Tek is having a great run with its two victories at the previous round at Mallala with Karl Reindler in the car and now Tim has done the same thing at Round 6 at Eastern Creek.”
Macrow’s drive was supported by Gawler Farm Machinery that is also backing Tim Slade in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.
