The double World Champion’s whereabouts for the 2009 season and beyond are currently one of the hot topics in the F1 paddock.

Many predict that the Spaniard, unhappy with his poor showings this season, will once again leave Renault at the end of 2008.

However, Alonso’s future will remain a mystery for a while longer at least as he has admitted he has yet to reach a decision.

“I will decide very soon on what I will do next year and what possibilities there are but there is not a fixed day,” Renault driver Alonso said.

Alonso, 27, has been linked with moves to Ferrari and Honda despite having a year left on his current contract.

He said reports that he would disclose his intentions in Monza next week were incorrect.

“No, I will not be making an announcement in Monza. It is not true,” Alonso said.
