AIM Autosport will start the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from seventh on the 19-car grid. Brian Frisselle of Lynchburg, Va., qualified the team’s No. 61 Lexus-powered Riley Mk XI in one minute 19.714 seconds on the 2.258-mile Lexington, Ohio, road course. He will drive the first race stint on Saturday evening, followed by Mark Wilkins of Toronto.
“It was intense. The track is very challenging, but I thought we got the most of what we had today. There wasn’t much more left on the table – I was giving it 100 per cent, “ Frisselle said. “Every lap, there’s minor mistakes and minor things that you think, ‘I could do that better, ‘ so you just come back the next lap and get it all right. “
