Brumos Racing owner Bob Snodgrass announced today the addition of four renowned drivers to the Brumos Racing teams for the Rolex 24 At Daytona, competing in a pair of Porsche Rileys the team will campaign in the twice-around-the-clock classic.
“We have put these teams together because we are coming to Daytona to win,” said Bob. “Hurley Haywood and J.C. France in the No. 59 Brumos Racing Porsche Riley will be joined by Roberto Moreno and Joao Barbosa. David Donohue and Darren Law in the No. 58 Brumos Racing Red Bull Porsche Riley will be joined by Buddy Rice and Scott Sharp.”
Moreno is a veteran racer from Brazil with experience in open-wheel racing, including Formula 1. Barbosa has had podium finishes in the Rolex Series GT and GTS classes, which include finishing second in the GTS championship in 2003. Moreno and Barbosa have driven for Brumos Racing in testing, the Rolex 24 and other endurance races over the years.
Rice, winner of the 2004 Indy 500, has driven in the Brumos Racing Red Bull entry in 2006 with a seventh place finish at Miller Motorsports Park. Scott Sharp is a former IndyCar champion and is no stranger to the Brumos Racing team. At the 2003 Rolex 24, Sharp finished 5th overall in the No. 59 Brumos Racing Porsche FABCAR.
“We are excited to have such eminent racers with such notable records join the Brumos Racing Team,” said Bob Snodgrass.
Brumos Racing’s records include 14 professional victories at Daytona International Speedway. These victories comprise of four overall victories(1973, 1975, 1978, 1991) in the Rolex 24.
