Christian Montanari put together a dominant performance for Vitaphone Racing to score his first FIA GT win at Brno. The driver from San Marino had to recover from a difficult start, but successfully managed to catch back Wendlinger before pitting. Then, after having the wheel back from team-mate Miguel Ramos, Christian controlled his Austrian rival in the closing stages to win in a comfortable way. With tree races to go, Montanari and Ramos lay just three points behind the leaders; the debut GT Race at Nogaro will be though to tame for anyone, as Christian will count on momentum to build a possible move.

“I think we really deserved this win… That’s my maiden victory in the Fia GT, scored at the end of a really positive weekend. I lost a bit of contact at the start, but I was able to come back to the tail of Karl Wendlinger before the first round of pit-stop. Then I stayed out longer, turning several fast lap and allowing Miguel to keep the lead after the first stop. At that point we never looked back, everything was just perfect. Our car proved once again to be incredibly consistent, and the tires were superb, not to mention the great job done by the whole Vitaphone team and by Ramos in his own stint. Now we’re only three points off the lead and, going through the last part of the season starting next weekend at Nogaro, anything can happen… “
