Kazuki Nakajima claimed the final pre-season P1 position at Jerez on Thursday after netting the fastest lap time of the day - and of the week.
Just two outfits, Williams and McLaren, remained at Jerez for the final day of pre-season testing ahead of next weekend’s Australian GP.
It was a day to conduct some last minute tweaking with both Williams and McLaren finding pace they otherwise hadn’t shown during the week.

Nakajima was the quicker of the two, his best lap of 1:17.494 over four tenths of a second faster than Kovalainen’s McLaren and the best time from the entire week overall.
The Finn, for his part, saw his day end early when his chassis came to a halt out on track but did test new components sent to Spain overnight from his team’s factory, reporting “productive feedback”.
“At Williams, we are fortunate in that we have an exceptionally strong group of people on our test team who really are the unsung heroes of the sport,” Williams technical director Sam Michael said.
