By the 1 hour 55 minute mark in the race Gué brought the car into the pits in 5th place for the final pitstop and driver change. Unfortunately during the pitstop the left rear tire wasn’t seated properly on the hub and worked its way loose as soon as Pavan returned to the track. The team lost 4 laps in the pits fixing the hub, which dropped the #30 car back to the 19th position.
Gué commented: “Overall it was a good weekend, it was obviously very disappointing to end up in 19th, for sure we had a top 5 or 6 car today. I was really impressed with the Pontiac GXP. R, it’s a really well sorted quick car. I think it shows by the fact that I had never even sat in one prior to the Friday test day. I just need to thank Jon Mirachi and the whole Racers Edge crew, as well as Pontiac and Pratt & Miller for their support. ”
