“The split format allows EMCO Gears to be part of providing two great days of exciting racing from the splendid venue of Mid-Ohio, ” said EMCO Director of Racing Dan L. Cota. “The two days of television coverage only proves that the Grand-Am Rolex Series is the premier road racing series of the Americas. In Canada, Mexico and the USA, it is unrivaled door-to-door racing excitement. EMCO Gears’ sponsorship of the Mid-Ohio event is something the entire work force at our company is very excited about. Serving as a title sponsor of a Grand-Am event is a great honor. ”
EMCO has been involved in the Rolex Series since the inception of the Daytona Prototype class in 2003 as a supplier of transmissions, axle systems, steering racks and technical consultations to the entire series. In addition to its significant involvement in Grand-Am, EMCO Gears also has operations in Mooresville, N.C. to service its NASCAR customers and Indianapolis to service the Indy Racing League. EMCO has also been involved in the Indy Racing League since its inception in 1996.
“EMCO has obviously seen several benefits to sponsoring our annual Rolex Series event at Mid-Ohio and we are thrilled with the continuation of this partnership, ” said Grand-Am President Roger Edmondson. “Since EMCO came on-board at Mid-Ohio in 2004, we have seen considerable growth and extremely competitive racing in the Rolex Series and at Mid-Ohio in particular. I have no doubt that fans in attendance at this year’s EMCO Gears Classic—as well as in 2008 and 2009—will be treated to the kind of excitement that can only be provided by Grand-Am. ”
