Former Renault F1 boss Flavio Briatore has tipped Red Bull driver Mark Webber to win this year’s Formula One world title.
Webber, who is managed by the Italian, vaulted to the top of the championship standings after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday - his fourth victory of the season.
Team-mate Sebastian Vettel had originally seemed destined to cross the line first, but a drive-through penalty for an infringement under the safety car thwarted his chances.

Briatore believes the Aussie’s ‘maturity and inner calmness’ will see him home.
He said: “Watch out, Webber is on his way to win the title.”
“I’m not tipping him just because he is one of my drivers. I only state what everyone has seen from home on TV.”
“Mark is a driver capable of exceptional feats. He has now reached a maturity and inner calmness that can take him really far.” The Sun
Mark Webber is ‘a driver capable of exceptional feats’ and ‘on his way to win the title’ – that is the view of the Australian’s manager Flavio Briatore, who tips the current world championship leader’s keen intelligence to be the key factor that will see him ultimately lift the laurels.
“In Hungary, he was the first one to understand that he could take a risk in running for three-quarter distance on the soft tyres he had at the start.”
“ That was the winning move, but it also demonstrated how much he uses his brain, unlike many others.” Yahoo! Eurosport UK
